Poekie Camp Out- 2011

Dear Friends and Family,

Last year it was too hot for a fire, but this year we not only had perfect s' mores, we also had a drum circle, an intense musical tents game, a Poekie fortune teller, and of course the usual crafts and pool. Our mommy also did a lot of henna tattoos, but that's not included in the photos (she's too busy keeping everyone happy).
A truly perfect way to end the summer.

We danced to the drums around our tents.

     
 
Risa's Poekies took good seats to watch it all.   Tents arrived for the game.
     

 

A visit with the fortune teller was quite serious,   and close attention from moms was needed.
     
 
We made shell and rock charm-bracelets and painted rocks.   Ayla always works so hard.

 

 

    
 
Watching the barbeque was also hard work.   The marsh mellows were perfect!

 

  

 
 
Somehow there was a Poekie Airport in that tree.   Courageous Poekies took flights down.
     
 
Random drumming with Anna.   And playing around.
     
 
Then there came one serious drummer.   And then another one.
     
 
And a third one.  
Slowly, Anna put us under a spell.
     
 
And we practiced for the musical tents game.   Players get ready for the game, which is just like musical chairs, instead of chairs it's with Poekie tents.
     
 
We start out running.   Anna's spell works magic in the circle and all around,
     
 
We're dancing to the rhythm of the drumbeat.   But it's not just dancing anymore, we play to win!
     
 
The very last two no longer danced nor heard the rhythm of the beat. (New rules will be implemented next year.)  

And we ALL had a BLAST!
