| The third play presented by the Poekie Peace Club was performed on October 30th, 2009. It was a play in the Halloween spirit. |
There is a harvest festival in Poekie Town, and smart Mango has made a new weight-lifting machine. Everyone wants to try it. But it is very difficult. |
| |
| Vince, the Invincible, boasts that he can lift it. He lifts it high and drops it on his toes. He cries and all the Poekies laugh at him. |
Leo, Vince's son, starts a fight. Everyone is yelling, while Vince goes home crying. Baby Poeka is very unhappy. |
| |

| That night at home, Baby Poeka watches the Wizard of Oz. She wishes that the Poekies would be happy, just like in the Land of Oz. |
When Baby Poeka falls asleep, a big storm comes. |
| |

| A cloud lifts her bed up and floats her away. |
She lands in Munchkin land, and Baby Poeka is Dorothy. Where is Glinda? |
| |
| Glinda arrives and tells Dorothy that the Land of Oz is different now, because a big Spook has taken over the castle since the wizard left. To find peace in Poekie Town, she must face the terrible Spook. If she needs help, she can click her heels two times and call for Glinda. |
But where is the yellow brick road? Glinda sings:
'Follow the misty gray road.
...'
Dorothy, Toto, followed by munchkins, start off.
'We're off to see the Spook, the terrible Spook of Oz.' |
| In the wheat-field they find Scarecrow surrounded by the mechanical scarecrows he has built. He is not happy. |
'I would wile away the hours, thinking 'bout my flowers, not scientifically. I would kiss them and hug them and then feed them to the bee-ees, if I only had less brain!' |

| Scarecrow joins Dorothy, and they enter the forest with apple trees. |
Suddenly Tin Man and Tiny Tin Girl jump on Dorothy. They are too loving, and Tin Man's heart is always broken. |
| |
'I would wile away the hours in meditative powers, my heart so very free. My big heart would never crack, and I'd sit down and have a snack, whenever I was sad!'
Tin Man joins the group. |
As they walk through the dark forest, they hear snoring and are attacked by the Lion. Dorothy is knocked out and Glinda has to come to wake her up. Lion is sad because his body is always hurting from all the fights. |
| |

| 'I would wile away the hours, not thinking 'bout my powers, or being very strong. I would conquer every enemy with love and hugs, no misery, if I only had less courage!' |
Lion joins the travelers on the misty gray road to face the terrible Spook of Oz. |
| |

| In the poppy-field everyone falls asleep, except for Scarecrow, who taps Dorothy's heels twice and calls for Glinda. |
Glinda arrives with snow and wakes everyone up.
The castle, now all gray, is looming in the distance. |
| |

| At the entrance they are attacked by Spookiest and Flying Ponkeys. Dorothy and Toto are captured and taken to the dungeon inside the castle. |
Lion knocks on the door first, always so courageous. But he is captured by Spookies and thrown in the dungeon. |
| |
| Tin Man knocks on the door and cries and begs, but he too is captured and thrown in the dungeon. |
Finally Scarecrow, who tries to reason with the Spookies and Ponkeys, is captured too. |
| |

| In the dungeon Dorothy cries: 'Lion, if only you weren't so courageous. Tin Man, if only you weren't so sad, Scarecrow, if only you would stop reasoning. If only I had stood up for Vince back at the festival in Poekie Town!' |
The friends recognize each other from Poekie Town. But Toto has run off to ask the Spook to let his friends go.
The big Spook sees that Toto is really Naughty Dotty (Baby Poeka's cat), and knows that his friends from Poekie Town are in his dungeon.
| |

| He summons them before him and scares them so much, that Baby Poeka starts crying. |
The Spook can't stand it and takes off his costume. It is Vince! |
| |
| And the Poekies are now VERY angry. Big fight! |
Desperately Baby Poeka calls for Glinda. |
| |
| Glinda tells Vince not to boast so much, Lion to think before attacking, Tin Man to not only listen to his heart, Scarecrow to think with his heart, and Baby Poeka to always stand up for her friends, no matter when!' |
Dorothy can click her heels once more and all will return to Poekie Town. |
| |
| 'We're off to go back home, our happy and peaceful home. We're off, we're off, we're off to go to wonderful Poekie Town. Oh Poekie Town, Oh Poekie Town, Oh wonderful, lovely Poekie Town. We're going home again at last, for peace in our Poekie Town!' |
It was great fun! |
